What does the Bible have to say about the experience of being a single Catholic?
Maybe you’re wondering why the Lord placed the desire for marriage on your heart, but hasn’t introduced you to your future spouse. Perhaps this season of singleness is particularly raw, and you don’t know where to turn for comfort.
Regardless of where you’re at on your journey as a Catholic Single, here are nine Bible verses you need to memorize.
1. When you’re feeling the challenges of being single
“The God of all grace who called you to his eternal glory through Christ [Jesus] will himself restore, confirm, strengthen, and establish you after you have suffered a little” (1 Peter 5:10).
2. If you’re doubting that God can redeem your story
“See, I am doing something new! Now it springs forth, do you not perceive it? In the wilderness I make a way, in the wasteland, rivers” (Isaiah 43:19).
3. When the loneliness seems overwhelming
“Father of the fatherless, defender of widows—God in his holy abode, God gives a home to the forsaken, who leads prisoners out to prosperity, while rebels live in the desert” (Psalm 68:6-7)
