When someone does something hurtful, talk to them about it. Let them know how their actions made you feel, and solve the problem together. Don’t air your dirty laundry and don’t speak badly of your partner to others.

“Love is patient, love is kind. This is one of my favorite Bible verses about love because it’s so straightforward. There’s no parables to work out: no metaphors to puzzle over. Instead, Saint Paul lays it out plain and simple. This is what love looks like.
Some of the best dating advice I ever received was to take this verse and substitute my crush’s name for the word “love”. For example, “John is patient, John is kind, he is not jealous…” This is a great way to spot red flags in your relationship.
