Top 10 Ideas for that “Big First Date” – No. 3

With the holidays fast approaching and everyone needing to get some shopping done, why not turn a date into a fun activity such as finding a retail store where you get to sit and make your own gift!
You can really get to know someone by seeing someone channel his/her inner child. I’m sure you both have somebody on your list who would love a teddy bear, customized Muppet (for those in the NYC area) or a hand painted piece of pottery.

Grab a hot chocolate together and then head to one of the following:

Build a Bear Workshop

Build a Bear isn’t just for bear lovers anymore. They have a large assortment of animals to build including dogs, cats, penguins, ducks, etc. You can also dress them in your favorite team jersey (hint…hint…for a gift idea). For the holiday season, you can even build a reindeer as well as Santa himself! This store isn’t just for kids…it’s for the young at heart. I’ve seen many adults have a great time.

Color Me Mine

Get to know someone’s artistic side (or not)…lol! At Color Me Mine you pick it, you paint it, they fire it and you take it with you. There are so many gift items to choose from. Maybe you can make that holiday cookie plate for when you drop by the neighbors. Or maybe, you both pick out something and gift it to each other as a souvenir…a token to remember how you are both taking a chance in life and meeting someone new. According to their website even JLo and Jennifer Garner have dropped by.

FAO Schwartz

Design you very own Muppet! (NYC Store). Now this one might be a little bit pricier, but it is really fun. Maybe you each design the other person’s Muppet. Might be interesting to see how someone else thinks you would look as a Muppet. Disclaimer…my Muppet was designed by someone else and ordered on-line. I did not think it was actually that flattering so she went back for a mini make-over ☺.

Dates don’t have to be so serious. Have a blast, meet a new person and get some shopping done! And make sure you share your pics on Facebook.com/CatholicSingles

Disclaimer: I have no connection with any of these sites. They all seemed interesting to me. So, do your research and have fun.
