Kerry & Troy

Dear Catholic Singles,My wife and I were married on December 17, 2005 in a small but joyful ceremony in Nova Scotia, Canada. After several years of meeting and dating all the wrong people the “traditional way” we finally surrendered ourselves to God’s plan for each of us- whatever that was- whether it be married or single. And so when we joined Catholic Singles in March, 2005, neither of us held high expectations but prayed that if anything were to happen, it would be with a partner who shared the same values and faith foundation.Only God’s intervention could have brought us together as my wife lived in Nova Scotia, Canada and I was living in Minnesota. In our profiles, we had both checked the box to meet someone over “any distance” but neither of us expected that someone to be from another country (funny how God works). There was an immediate connection on e-mail and our first phone call lasted over five hours. We complete each other’s sentences, laugh at the same things, and are so well matched it is truly amazing. We can just be ourselves with each other and it feels incredible to have met the soulmate God had intended for each of us all along. On August 20, 2005, I proposed to Kerry to our song, “The Eyes of My Angel” by Pat Balder. We married in Nova Scotia in December which was our 10th in-person meeting (a short courtship being completely out of character for both of us). Getting married during the season of our Christ’s birth seemed to be the most appropriate way for us to thank God for bringing us together. In a world tainted with cynicism and doubt, we feel especially blessed in knowing that it was our faith in God and in love that ultimately brought us together. At the center of our deep love and friendship is a faith-based commitment to grow in Christ together and to honor and celebrate our Sacrament of Marriage forever. We thank you for your part in helping God bring us together in “perfect love”.May God Bless You Abundantly,Kerry & Troy
