Fall means anything is possible!

Fall is my favorite time of year. It’s a time of renewal when “all things are possible”. That is why I would like to encourage our members to put some newfound energy into their dreams and aspirations as well as their profiles. You never know when it is going to happen. For me, it was in the Fall of 2010. I took a leap of faith, created my profile and was blessed enough to meet my future husband on this very site. It may or may not happen for you in this manner, but I would like to encourage all of you to make the best use of this site whether to grow in your faith, meet new friends or meet your future spouse.
So…here are a few tips (no tricks) to refresh and recharge your chances of meeting that special someone:

1. Update your Profile Picture

• If you don’t have a picture up, it’s time to pick out that favorite shot and let other members get a glimpse of your smiling face and soulful eyes. If you already have a picture and it’s been there for a few months, change it up.
• Include more than one picture. You know the saying, “a picture is worth a thousand words”; well if you’re not a writer, show someone. Include pictures of you doing your favorite activity, pics with friends and family is good too. Are you an animal lover or better yet own a pet? If so, make sure to include a picture of them as well…they will be part of the package.

2. If you go to Mass on a regular basis, please include your Parish. There may be a member who has been sitting five rows behind you for the past year. Even if you’re not a match, you might make a new friend.

3. Time to give some thought on those essay questions. They don’t have to be a long answer, but you should provide a little more information about yourself. I’m not sure about you, but I would need a lot more info. (ie. pics and essays) before I emailed someone just because they were in my zip code and age range.

4. Speaking of zip codes…here is a dare. I would like you to try clicking “any distance” and just see if someone really catches your attention. You are looking for someone to spend the rest of your life with and they may not be conveniently located within a 20-mile radius! I cannot tell you how many friends I know whose future spouse ended up being from another State. Not just online. My one friend met her future husband on a Cruise Ship. She lived in Upstate New York and he lived in Maine. They have been married 16 years now and he relocated to New York…you just never know.

5. Comment on Blogs that Interest You

• Did you ever think that comments on the blogs could also be used as a discussion forum or a way to meet another member? If you find that someone says something interesting and you are curious about that member, just click on their username and it will bring up their profile. You just might find someone that you may have overlooked in other searches.

6. Chat Room

• Next month we will be hosting “topic” nights in the chat room. We will have new hours (TBA) when the forum will be moderated. This will be a way for you to meet other members who may share some common interests. The topics will vary and we encourage members with suggestions to send them to info@CatholicSingles.com and put Chat Topic in the subject line.

It’s amazing how some little changes can make a big difference in your life. Whether you have committed to walk at least one mile a day, cleaned out your desk, changed up your hairstyle or simply refreshed your profile here on CatholicSingles.com, change is good. I hope Fall fills you with as much excitement and energy as it does for me. Continued blessings to all of you!
