- Fr. David was raised in Indianapolis and received his Bachelor of Arts from the University of Notre Dame in 1987 with majors in history, communications and theatre. After working a year in New York City, he entered Moreau Seminary, receiving his Master of Divinity in 1993 and Ordination in 1994. Fr. Scheidler first served in Goodyear, Ariz. before coming to work at Notre Dame in 1995. He has worked as the associate rector of the Basilica of the Sacred Heart and assisted in Campus Ministry with various programs, including the Freshman Retreat and Spanish Mass. In 2002-2003 Fr. Scheidler was a chaplain for the Alliance for Catholic Education and from 2003 to 2007 he was assigned to Notre Dame College Preparatory in Niles, Ill. He then went to work for three years as associate pastor on the parish team of St. Adalbert and St. Casimir in South Bend. Fr. Scheidler now returns to Campus Ministry as departmental chaplain after serving in Monterrey, Mexico from 2010 to 2013.
