Jonathan and Megan began e-mailing each other about a year ago after connecting on CatholicSingles.com. E-mailing soon turned into conversations over the phone, until they finally decided to meet. They met Nov. 18 last year at the Spectrum Center’s Barnes and Noble for their first date. “We hit it off right away,” said Jonathan. By the third date, just 11 days later, their relationship status became official. Jonathan had heard the old adage before. “Everyone always says you know when you know,” he said. But he never believed it until he met Megan. “I knew three or four months in, that this is the girl I would end up marrying,” Jonathan said. They took to the ice Thursday night with the soundtrack of their relationship, prepared by Jonathan, playing in the background. First a Cold Play song – a reminder of the concert they went to in February, then the theme song from the Shamu show at Sea World – Jonathan had e-mailed Sea World months earlier to get the name of the song. |

Finally the song he planned to propose to, “You raise me up” by Il Divo, came on. As the song ended, he pulled her to the middle of the rink and dropped to one knee. “Megan I love you with all of my heart, will you marry me?” he asked. “Are you serious? Are you really serious?” Megan asked before answering “yes.” They stood in the middle of the rink, just one year after they had met there, kissing and holding each other as the last song on the play list came on – “All I want for Christmas is you.” |
