5 Ways To Grow Confidence

Once a year, when I leave the house to go on a date, I vaguely wonder, “What do women notice first in a guy?” Is it the Pacman t-shirt or mismatched blazer? Either way, I’m probably not making a stellar impression.
Then, a female friend recently clarified it for me, “The first thing I notice about a guy is his confidence.” Wow. Pacman is staying. Word has it a guy with low confidence is like a girl who hasn’t brushed her hair for 90 days. Man, just be sure of yourself. That’s it.

So now I’m building confidence. Before such an intimidating task I prefer to take the drip approach. Fill the confidence bucket one drop at a time each day. Here’s my confidence building routine for free:

6:10am ~ Become spiritually confident.

Wake up and think about why you’re on this planet. Maybe it’s to build a school for the deaf or change some bad laws. If you can figure this one out how could you not have confidence?

“Man, I think your car is a piece of junk.”

Man, I don’t really care. I figured out this morning I wasn’t put on this planet to own a nice car. I’m spiritually confident in a higher purpose.

8:00am ~ Build material confidence.

Make some money. Doesn’t have to be a lot of money. Just make some. No matter how you look at it, you can’t really get through the day without money. You need that stuff. If you don’t have a J-O-B to make money create one and sell your homemade fishing lures on ebay two for a dollar. Just make some money. Work + money is a great start to build some material confidence.

12:00pm ~ Let others help you build confidence.

Have lunch with someone who respects you. What other people think of us influences how we think of ourselves . That’s a fact. So invest your meal-time with people who recognize you’re abilities. Hopefully, their confidence in you will rub off into you being confident in yourself.

5:00pm ~ Become physically confident.

Head to the gym. Lift weights, swing something heavy, or climb a wall. For centuries male confidence has hinged on a man’s ability to be effective with his arms. Imagine Robin Hood not being able to pull an arrow? Where would his confidence be? Now, we slam a rubber ball through a rim ten feet high; or the short people just toss it from a free throw line. Same concept, just put those arms to use.

8:00pm ~ Remember what you’ve done.

Towards the end of the day, write down one accomplishment. People who accomplish things tend to be confident, but people who take the time to realize they’ve accomplished things even more so. Hey you woke up and showed up, right? There are people in the world who aren’t doing even that, so pat yourself on the back. Don’t try to start remembering things when you’re sixty. Remember what you made for breakfast and congratulate yourself.

Be confident tomorrow is going to be a great day. You’re a Prince. 2016 elections are exciting. It’s all true.
