I was reading another person's blog about this topic. I believe that the word; "chivalry" has a few different interpretations. As our society has grown and developed, there is necessarily equality between women and men. This transcends the work force, to the roles in raising the family and the economics of dating. Personally, I would not be offended, if my date offered to pay for somethings. I would however, let her know that I would like to pay. Some might consider this to be; "too 'old-fashioned.'" However, if my date insists, I might come back with: "Okay, you agreed to be my date, this time. So, if you are still interested in seeing me, maybe you could perhaps pay for part of our 2nd date." I feel that expressing chivalry is also always showing proper manners during our date. I always try to hold the doors and chairs for my date. This is the way my dear folks brought me up, as how to act during our date.
