YELLOW ROSES OF MY HEART
BY: MARK ANTHONY ROSOLOWSKI

I wrote this while in the hospital, I was thinking about all of the Yellow Roses I have in my life.

The bright color of yellow roses brings reminds us of the sun. It delivers to us an inner feeling of warmth and happiness. These feelings associated with the yellow rose are similar to those shared with a trusted ally. Therefore the yellow rose has come to mean joy and friendship. One thing to remember is that the yellow rose is the most fragile. This just might be to remind us of how friendships can be. To remind us they without nurturing and care friendship can easily die.

I remember my wedding day as my wife stood there holding her bouquet of yellow roses. They were her favorite, Donna thought about marriage the same way that I still do, in order to be married you must be “Best friends” with your spouse. In order to make the marriage work you must always and forever be willing to nurture, work and constantly renew that friendship. At her funeral I had her casket covered with a spray of yellow roses, and inside the casket at her head was a rosary made of miniature yellow roses, Our journey as best friends began with yellow roses and our eternal friendship began with yellow roses as well.

As I entered the garden of Catholic Singles, I came upon more of these yellow roses. I have been walking through these yellow roses, picking some and holding them close to my heart, I have found the special power of these roses. The yellow roses in this garden have each touched my heart in their own special ways. As I walk through this garden I take special care of them, to make sure each grows and is tended to prolong their lives. Some of these roses I have cared for I have carefully sniped them from their stems and given them to my friends.

I continue to woalk through this garden of yellow roses, to make sure that there is always a generous supply of them to be given away to my friends to keep our friendships alive.

So to you my friends both new and old, I give each and everyone of you a single yellow rose to be replaced as necessary. So to Pea A!, Kare, Search, Fraidy, Linda, Kara, and all of those may have failed to mention, I give all of you a rose that has grown in my heart, and take the roses you have given me an place them in my heart forever.
