WAITING FOR AN ANSWER
BY: MARK ANTHONY ROSOLOWSKI

The other day I was talking to an old friend. This old friend I had known since before I was born. I asked my old friend a simple question, "Dear Lord, I have heard a lot of people say that you never answer prayers, God why do you ignore people when they ask something of You?"

My answer came to me, "My dear child, I do not ignore you, I hear each and every question and I do answer them." "Sometimes the answer is no, sometimes the answer is in a whisper and at times you fail to listen." I acknowledged this answer when I heard, "My son, why do people ignore others when they reach out or ask each other a question?"

I was puzzled and I responded that I did not understand the question, I asked Him to please explain to me what He was asking. I heard, "My child you ask Me why I seem to ignore someone's prayer to me, I am asking you why do My children ignore each other?" I silently prayed to let me think about what was asked, to let me examine myself and seek out an answer.

I went to my Catholic Singles home page and then went to my mailbox; I went to the sent mail file and looked at what came up. I saw over a dozen e-mails that I had sent to various people. I scanned down the list and saw that all but one had been opened. I then went to the received file and saw that out of all that people I had contacted, I had received only one reply.

This made me think of the question that I had asked my old friend. I thought of those who complained because God never answered their questions. I came to this answer if we as Christian men and women cannot give an answer to those that are seeking us, even if the answer is no, why are we expecting more from God.

It was a gentle reminder to me, to answer all those that seek me out, even if I have to say no thank you.
