THAT GUY
BY: MARK ANTHONY ROSOLOWSKI The little girl was found huddled behind a sofa, she was alone but unafraid. The strangers came in and took her away from there. They took her away from that house of pain, that horrible place, the place of pain and torture. At the age of six they found she had been molested, beaten and raped. The horrors were too awful for a young child to go through. In the hospital she just laid there, clutching onto the teddy bear her grandfather had given her. She was silent, yet she seemed to be unafraid, she sat there looking straight ahead. Kind people came in and asked her questions, she remained silent, not uttering a sound. She was thinking of happier times, the times of going to see her grandpa and grandma, how much fun she had. She felt so loved, so protected and so safe, they would never let anything bad happen to her. They would protect her, they loved her. She sat there silently; a small smile on her face now as she thought about, the best thing about grandpa's house, is grandpa. She missed her grandma now that God had called her home, but she was always with her. She would see grandma everyday when she woke up. Grandma would be there smiling and telling her that she was loved and that she was a good girl. Grandma sometimes had tears in her eyes as she knew what was happening, she would tell her not to worry, someone will save her, and it will not be much longer. She spoke to grandpa, or poppy as she liked to call him all the way from Texas, she wanted to tell him she was being hurt but she was afraid to tell. If poppy knew he would come and help her, but she did not know how to tell him. She would think grandma would tell poppy and then everything would be okay. She thought of this day. She was being sent home to poppy, he would protect her, but things happened and now she was in this strange place, scared, alone and wanting "That Guy" to come back. A lady came into the room and told her that her name was Ann, the little girl saw the cross around Ann's neck, she saw "That Guy" on it. She reached out and told the lady "He is the one who helped me, He came off my wall and hugged me, and He told me his Mother was there too, she was so pretty." She knew she was safe now; anyone who wears "That Guy" around their necks has to be here to help. The little girl hugged Ann and started to talk about all the bad things that had happened to her. |
