Look Up
BY: MARK ANTHONY ROSOLOWSKI Remember the movie "Forest Gump" and the now famous line from that movie, Mama always said life is like a box of chocolates, you never know what you're going to get". Well, I guess that line is true up to a point, but that is only true to those who do not know the secret. It is not a well guarded secret, as a matter of fact most people know the secret, but are too afraid, ashamed or unsure of their answer. So lets take it a step at a time, an easy to explain how to know what you will get not only with a box of chocolates and with life. First go out to the store and buy yourself a box of Whitmans Chocolates, it doesnt matter the size, just make sure it is the Whitmans Sampler. If you are buying it for yourself get the biggest box you can find, go ahead, you deserve it. When you get home, open the box, stop right there do not eat any yet, look up at the top of the box, and there is the answer, you now know what you are going to get. Personally I prefer the chocolate covered cherries, but to each their own. Now you may be thinking okay, so that shows me how to know what I am going to get with a box of chocolates, how does that help with life? The answer is simple, just look up. Just look up, the answer is at the top. Just believe and God will give you all of the answers that you are seeking. This simple answer also goes to things in nature, certain types of Vultures will run before they take off and soar through the air, they do not look up and see the sky, and they just look ahead. So if you put a cage around the Vulture and leave the top open, the Vulture even though it can fly will remain trapped inside of its cage, a prisoner forever, never to fly again because he did not look up. How many times have you felt caged in, just looking straight ahead unable to start and get your feet off of the ground? Think back to those times, did you look up, talk to God and get His answer so you can soar and be free. If the vulture looks up he will be free, if you look up you too will be free. If you put a bee in a glass, ha will continue to fly into the side of the glass, he will not just fly up and out; he will repeatedly ram his head into the side of the glass until he tires out or dies. Unless there is intervention from a superior being the bee is trapped, when we lay the glass on its side, or tip the glass the bee will fly free. So then why is it when we are surrounded by problems we will run into the wall time and time again, we know what we are doing is not right but we will keep making the same mistake. If we would only look up and ask for intervention from a superior being when we are lost, God will tip our glass and we will fly free of our problems. When you become frustrated because you see no way out of a situation, when you are angered because you cannot get past a problem and find a solution, just look up, ask God for His assistance, ask Him for the answer. Always remember it does not have to be a formal prayer, just ask God for help the way you would a trusted friend. Just look up as I do and say, God, I need your help, that is all you need; He knows why you need help. He will be there all you have to do is ask. One last thing, do not forget to say Thank you, God, every night before you go to bed. He is waiting to hear from you. |
