LAST SHOT FIRED
BY: MARK ANTHONY ROSOLOWSKI

He was an American; he joined the service to serve America. Like his father before him and his father before him, traced back to the Revolutionary War. There had always been a member of his family in the Armed Services. He didn't like the thought of dying in defense of America, but if he was called on he would proudly serve.

He went to battle, he was a Navy Corpsman, and he served with the Marines. When a Marine fell in battle they would call for, "DOC", he would run to assist. They were his brothers, his comrades in arms. He could not let them down.

As he saw a Marine fall from a wound, he ran to assist, the last shot was fired.

A man without a weapon, just a side arm to protect his patient and a pouch of medical supplies, died in action today.

Lord,
I ask on this day of remembrance,
For You to please see safely home,
The souls of my departed brother Corpsmen,
Take them under your protection,
Bring them to a place where there is no war,
Grant them eternal peace in Your Home.

Dedicated to HM3 Coleman HM2 Evers, HM2 Seaburg, they were, my friends, my fellow Corpsmen, my brothers in every sense of the word. Rest in Peace.

HM2 Rosolowski NPT/FMF

Very touching, especially for this Memorial Day.
