IF ONLY I HAD…
BY: MARK ANTHONY ROSOLOWSKI

How often have you said, “If only I had…”, and you finish the sentence with what you wish you had done. Now with the future of one of my stories being published, I keep saying to myself, “If only I had written these stories of love and inspiration while my wife was alive to enjoy them”.

I sit here now rereading these storied I have written over the past years, I feel the tears well up in my eyes as I think of how she would have enjoyed them. I think of how proud she would be of me as one of them is published. I think of how she would have read my words of love and inspiration, how much I admired her, and how she was my inspiration to live each day to it’s fullest.

I think back to the unconditional love we gave to each other. I think back to the times we looked at each other and our eyes spoke the volumes of love we shared. But, I am left here wondering if she knew how she inspired me to do all that I have done. She is now looking down on me from Heaven above, I know that she is smiling and proud of me, but if I had only given her those words of love as she lived.

I have learned my lesson though all of this. I will never again let a moment pass that I do not tell someone that I love them; I will not let the opportunity to say thank you slip through my fingers.

There is a special lady in my life, I sit here and wonder if she knows how special she is to me. As I think this I say to myself, “If only…” But I do not need to finish that sentence; I am going to say it now so I do not have to ever say, “If only I had…”

My precious angel, I love you, I need you and you are the light at the end of my tunnel. With you all that I want to do is possible. With you I cannot fail, with you I will accomplish what God wants me to do.
