As a candle flickers, so does life. There is no such thing as physical eternal life unless God creates it. Everything that we do or feel is a reflection on our soul from that flickering candle. I try my best to be honest, but there is a black mark on my soul which is hard to erase. My soul flickers. It is only Gods cleansing hand that can save me from eternal torment. I am glad that I am Catholic, despite what my great uncle wishes. I have eternity to look up to my savior, the Christ figure that was crucified in thought, word and deed; the King of the Jews. It is my own Jewish heritage notwithstanding the test of faith and time that brings out the paradox of I am, I am. God. The one being that is beyond comprehension to fathom entirely by a single mind. It is only when two or three are gathered that the part of his mantle is understood and acted upon. Everyone needs a mentor to look up to. My greatest mentor is Christ, after which my father. I understand all too well how religion works. I pray that my new friends find something within me that they like and want to be part of, as much as I wish to be part of their lives. I witness by simple being myself, which is a best that can be done by Christians everywhere. I pray that mercy finds its way back into the laws of the land. No one needs to die by state or federal execution. There are better ways to treat people. I have a giving soul
and I believe that giving is better than receiving. It is through the act of giving that the flickering light that is our soul is renewed and rekindled. It is by granting and giving mercy that both the unborn and lawless are granted societys greatest gift, uninterrupted life. Give life, not death.
