God directs my life's journey

by SaraTheresa on Aug 27th, 2010 @ 06:38 PM

I am a cradle Catholic and am conservative in my religion and in politics. I am a Eucharistic minister at this time. I'm the oldest of a large family and am the mother of a large family. I am very family oriented. My husband passed away in 2007 and I have been lonely. I miss the companionship of someone special and could offer love to the right person. I have not been able to meet that special person in my area.
Although I am soon to be 68, I am very active. I have been told I am pretty and I enjoy dressing attractively. I am financially sound but not wealthy. I had planned to retire but I decided to keep working when my husband passed away. I love my job as an activity professional and work in a nearby care center for the elderly. I am a dept. head in charge of seeing our elders social, spiritual, and emotional needs are met, of completing government assessment processes for our elders, in charge of our volunteers and all publicity for our center. I have been working for culture change in elder care centers on the state level for 10 years. I love being with the elderly and enjoy their company.

My children and grandchildren are very important to me and we are together often. I enjoy going out with friends, playing cards, dining, going to movies, concerts, etc. I enjoy a glass of white wine or two on occasion. I try to eat foods that are healthy. I love to travel and enjoyed a trip to France and Italy several years ago, and to South Carolina, Colorado, and Utah this year so far. I also love to work in my flower gardens and decorate in my home. I am a apprentice master gardener at this time.

I graduated as salutatorian of my high school class. I have had college classes in psychology, history and English and maintained an A average I love to read both fiction and non-fiction and am an extensive reader.
I am very interested in history and have been involved in historical preservation on the state, county and local levels.
I attended training sessions on historical preservation, tourism, and volunteerism at our state historical office and was founder of a county preservation commission as well as was head of our local group and served as general contractor and leader for restoring a local hotel and writing the application for its National Historical Register listing. I am interested in politics.

I am secretary of our local Catholic Daughters of American Court at this time. As you can see I am still active but have been thinking seriously of retiring to be able to enjoy my interests whenever I want. I enjoy and am open to new interests as I like variety in my life.
